Beast of No Nation

I've been reading this book calle Beasts of No Nation by Uzodinma Iweala. It's a short novella, about 150 pages, but each page full of dramatic imagery of war and violence. It's part of this new genre of lost african boys - fighting in civil wars and desperate of hope. I'm almost done with it, but the main charecter in the book is only 12 or so. He goes from a life of literacy to being forced to kill for the rebels and be sodomized by the guerilla commander.

 

Disturbing to say the least.
